For instance, today, I took time looking up hashtags on X that are related to some of the most contentious topics the world has to offer. Here are some of what I found: As you can see, #LGBTQetc is well represented in the X hashtag system. But, #marijuana is missing entirely. Is it that X is stifling #freespeech in this respect or that users are scared to dare X with marijuana-related hashtags? We shall know the answer to that question in due course. But for now, I think the absence of marijuana-related hashtags in X’s search database is connected to the X algorithms which are basically Elon’s creation. The case appears to have been mostly forgotten since then.
