The World Wide Web should be a place of healthy connections, and therefore a hub of opportunities. But, this is not happening as desired mainly because scam artists are making many people to feel unsafe online.
You see: A culture of scam actually benefits no one. For example, it makes everyone to be afraid of everyone. So, everyone is deprived of vital connections that would have helped their lives to work better.
Even the scam artists themselves are losing out. Why? First, these days, tech has developed so much that no fruit of scam can go undetected for too long. So, the scam artist can be 90% sure that whatever he earns via a scam scheme would soon be lost alongside their freedom.
So, what's the gain? It's why we have a saying that #ScamIsStupid. We really want the hashtag to trend alongside this simple people-powered approach we are adopting to fighting online scam: Every member of each online community becomes an online watchdog.
