Help For Those Who Are Sexually Attracted To Minors

This is Meta AI imagining a society where every adult has a healthy relationship towards children. IT IS POSSIBLE.

In case you don't know, we recently started a dedicated campaign for laws against child sexual abuse to be further strengthened across the world. Tagged #ProtectTheirInnocence, the campaign was triggered by recent United Nations' report of one-year-olds being victims of rape by armed soldiers in Sudan's conflict zones.

At the introduction to the #ProtectTheirInnocence campaign, we said among other things that reports of kid sexual abuse requires “urgent need for collective action - not just lamentation”. So, if you are genuinely concerned about the ugly situation, we urge you to kindly support the campaign. Or, you can just reshare this post.

An important aspect of such support is to help the perpetrators to heal from their unhealthy sexual orientation. Hence this follow-up publication.

As a society, we're often reluctant to discuss uncomfortable topics, especially those related to sexual attraction. However, it's essential to effectively address a growing concern of men developing amorous attractions to underage individuals.

As a result, this article aims to provide guidance and support for those struggling with these feelings, helping them to overcome their attractions and develop healthier relationships. It also provides information to help everyone else to assist them.

To start with, let's briefly understand the situation better…

Understanding the Issue

It's not likely that someone just wakes up and becomes a pedo. So, before we dive into the solution, it's crucial to understand the complexity of this issue: Based on mainstream psychology, sexual attraction to underage individuals can stem from various factors, such as the following…

  1. Lack of emotional maturity: Some individuals may struggle with emotional regulation, leading them to seek comfort in relationships with younger people.
  2. Trauma or past experiences: Unresolved trauma or past experiences can influence an individual's attractions and behaviors.
  3. Social isolation: Feeling disconnected from others can lead individuals to seek connections with those who may be more vulnerable.
  4. Misguided perceptions: Societal pressures, media representation, or personal biases can distort one's perception of what constitutes a healthy relationship.

The High Importance of Seeking (Or Giving) Help

Those who suffer from sexual attraction towards underage individuals should know that:

  1. They need help

  2. Seeking help is the first and most courageous step towards overcoming these feelings and developing healthier relationships.

  3. Adequate help is available, and many sufferers have used them to transform into better versions of themselves.

As for the rest of us who don't have these unhealthy orientations, it makes sense to acknowledge that:

  1. Those perpetrators may be struggling with complex issues, such as trauma, mental health concerns, or distorted societal influences.

  2. This realization should get us more prepared to assist than to judge them.

  3. Helping them doesn't mean encouraging them to remain as they are.

So, How Can One Overcome Sexual Attraction Towards Minors?

Here are some options that have been successfully explored by many sufferers...

  • Seeking professional help: Consult with a therapist, counselor, or psychologist who specializes in addressing these issues. They can help you identify underlying causes and develop coping strategies.
  • Joining support groups: Joining a support group can provide a safe space to share your experiences and connect with others who are facing similar challenges. You can start by consulting Resources For People Concerned About Their Thoughts And Behaviors by John Hopkins Bloomberg School Of Public Health.
  • Self-reflection and journaling: Regularly reflecting on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can help you identify patterns and triggers. Journaling can be a therapeutic outlet for processing your emotions.
  • Healthy relationships and social connections: Focus on building relationships with people your own age, engaging in social activities, and cultivating a strong support network.
  • Education and awareness: Learn about the consequences of engaging in relationships with underage individuals, including the legal, emotional, and psychological repercussions.
  • Mindfulness and self-care: Practice mindfulness techniques, such as meditation or deep breathing, to help manage stress and anxiety. Prioritize self-care activities that promote emotional well-being.

Conclusion

Even if you forget everything else we've said above👆, please remember this: Seeking and/or giving help is the first step towards a healthier, more positive life. Thus, if you need instant  one-on-one attention, email awakedigest@gmail.com. We promise to treat your case with absolute respect, compassion and confidence.

How To Handle Your Haters: A Lesson From Bill Gates And His Daughter (2)

Bill and Phoebe Gates. Image credit: Business Insider Do you know what? I learned that, growing up, Bill Gates was too small for his age and was often bullied at school and on the streets. As a result, he had very few friends - no more than two per time. As related in the archives , young Bill was a recluse who spent hours cocooned in his room. Once, during such a social withdrawal, his mom asked after him over the intercom, and Bill shouted back, “ I'm thinking… Have you ever tried thinking? ” The fact is: Young Bill Gates didn't have many friends. Unknown to him, many of his peers snubbed him because a rumor spread around town that “ Bill is the weirdest guy that God ever made ”. As acknowledged by Washington Post's Mark Leibovich, the real issue was that the boy Bill Gates III was an infant prodigy. As a result, he just couldn't get along with most of his peers and vice versa. But, it hardly became an issue to him because his attention was essentially somewhere else....
